A Courtesy Visit

She actually came in to find something else, but she had an excuse.
"Hi Eq, it's been a long time since I had your party tray and I thought maybe I should return it."
Like all women Eq blurts instictively and reluctantly at the same time, "Oh Un!! Long time. Well come in. You ought to atleast have a cup of tea."

"Well Eq, it really has been a long time. So tell me how are your som's studies going on? Only 2 months to the exams. My daughter just doesn't seem to be studying."

"What do I say Un. You know he is the brightest in class. He stammers and stutters in class while answering. Your daughter must have already told you about that. He makes his own efforts, but they don't seems to be enough."

"Atleast he makes some kind of effort Eq. My daughter only seems to be interested in Television and the phone. On normal days, its as if she has eaten a horse, but during exams it's like she needs a horse to eat every single minute. She will go on munching and her dinner takes an hour for God's sake. Its just because she gets to watch all the TV serials when having dinner. I am getting really worried."

"Oh Un....stop worrying. She is a smart kid, and she will get through. So what if she isn't as hard working as my kid. She has a better head. She will make it."

Un had heard enough. She had come to find out if he was studying. She had learnt all she wanted. Now she could go back and scream at her daughter again.

"Well thanks again for the tray Eq. Lets hope I ask for it again...you know celebrating the results and all. But I seriously have my reservations. I can only pray. Bye."
